Fast Facts
- Wickford Village was founded in 1709.

- The village of Wickford was originally the vision of Lodowick Updike, grandson of one of North Kingstown’s first settlers Richard Smith, and heir to the vast Smith/Updike landholdings known as Cocumscussoc.
- The Wickford Art Festival was established in 1962.
- Construction was started on the First Baptist Meeting House of Wickford in the fall of 1816.
